IrRh (Iridium & Rhodium) Thermocouple
It is possible to measure the ultrahigh temperature field until 2100℃ at high accuracy. This thermocouple is suitable for controlling the high temperature in fabrication like semi-conductor, LED and in-car material.
WRe (Tungsten-Rhenium) Thermocouple
This thermocouple is possible to measure the temperature till about 2300℃ in vacuum and Inert atmosphere. Attaching the W tip to top enables this thermocouple to have the long life.

Most of the customer utilize radiation thermometer when they measure the ultrahigh temperature like 1,700～2,100℃. Radiation thermometer is the way of measuring temperature of measuring thing with infrared rays which comes from it indirectly, not measuring it directly like thermocouple. However, there are low accuracy problem, for example, the distance between radiation thermometer and measuring thing, and it is quite difficult to measure the temperature when screen or masking exists among the distance. Therefore, currently, we have no choice but to rely on the judgment of measured value which is determined by skillful craftsman's sense and experience, so there is possibility of risk that it might decrease the production yield.
We Produced Thermocouple Combines High-Durability and Accuracy.
FURUYA METAL succeeded in developing the new type thermocouples which satisfy both high durability and accuracy to solve above problems. This thermocouple is consisting of two wires. One is plus wire of 40% IrRh (60% of Iridium, 40% of Rhodium), another is minus wire of pure Iridium. Besides, we succeeded in not only developing wire, but also developing Iridium protection tube which is superior in heat resistivity and corrosion resistance. Utilizing Iridium thermocouple with Iridium protection tube enables you to have performance with further durability. Though we recommend to utilize this thermocouple under vacuum and inert atmosphere, it is also possible to use it under oxidation atmosphere depending on the requirement (oxygen concentration, measuring temperature ,parts of thermocouple composite material and furnace composite material).
Characteristic of Heat Electromotive Force
It has the heat electromotive force characteristic which is quite linear.
Temperature Hunting Durability
Temperature hunting durability is about 20 times stronger than that of WRe.
Temperature Measurement Tolerance
Temperature measurement tolerance meets the requirement of Wre thermocouple’s ASTM (E988-1996) Standard.
